To support the Healthy China Initiative and build a world-class discipline in healthcare management, the 88th Standing Committee Meeting of the 15th Tsinghua University Committee of the Communist Party of China reviewed and approved the establishment of the School of Healthcare Management, Tsinghua University in July 2024. The school was officially inaugurated at a ceremony held in the Main Building of Tsinghua University on November 15.

As China’s first higher education institution dedicated to systematic research in healthcare management, the School of Healthcare Management marks a landmark event in the nation’s disciplinary development of healthcare management, heralding a new era for the field.

The School of Healthcare Management at Tsinghua University is an integral part of Tsinghua Medicine. In response to China's comprehensive advancement of medical and health system reforms and the rapid flourishing of the healthcare industry, and in alignment with the national initiative to realize the "Healthy China" strategy, Tsinghua University has taken a pioneering step by establishing the School of Healthcare Managment Tsinghua University — a specialized institution dedicated to advancing medical management research and cultivating high-caliber talent. This initiative aims to accelerate the modernization of the healthcare governance system and its administrative capabilities, while fostering high-quality development within China's medical services sector. Leveraging Tsinghua's multidisciplinary strengths in medicine, management, and engineering, the school is strategically positioned to meet the nation's surging demand for professionally trained medical management experts.
