On November 15, 2024, during Tsinghua Medicine’s Future of Medicine Forum, Tsinghua University officially inaugurated the School of Healthcare Management, alongside other new schools under Tsinghua Medicine. This marked a major milestone in the development of its medical disciplines. This article commemorates the founding of the School of Healthcare Management and its inaugural academic event.

As an important part of Tsinghua Medicine, the School of Healthcare Management draws on the Tsinghua University's resources in fields like medicine, management, engineering, and data science. Its core mission is to cultivate leading healthcare management professionals with both an international perspective and innovative capabilities to support the modernization and internationalization of China's healthcare system.

On the same day, the School of Healthcare Management hosted a sub-forum on modern healthcare management, themed “At the Medical Frontier, with a Vision for Tomorrow.” The sub-forum, chaired by Professor Wu Jian, Dean of the School of Healthcare Management, brought together a distinguished group of experts from China and abroad in the fields of medical policy, hospital management, and medical innovation and investment.

Ge Yanfeng, Research Fellow and former Director of the Department of Social Development Research at the Development Research Center of the State Council, delivered a speech titled "Grasping Key Issues and Promote the Healthy Development of the Healthcare Sector.” In his address, Mr. Ge provided a systematic analysis of the structural problems currently plaguing the healthcare system and presented suggestions regarding the focus areas of future healthcare reform.

Professor Hu Jiankun, Vice President of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, delivered an in-depth speech on the key challenges faced by modern hospitals in quality improvement, optimizing efficiency, and innovating services, and drew on the hospital's successful operational and management practices to offer practical solutions.

Professor Wang Yongjun, President of Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University, delivered a presentation titled "Innovation Ushers in a New Era of Reperfusion for Ischemic Stroke Treatment.”In his talk, Professor Wang detailed the latest research progress in the field of stroke treatment, with a particular emphasis on the advancements in reperfusion therapy and their potential for clinical application in the near future.

In his speech titled "Innovation and Development of Ocular Trauma Treatment,” Professor Yan Hua, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tianjin Medical University, offered a comprehensive overview of the research progress and key breakthroughs in ocular trauma diagnosis and treatment technologies.
